Hey Evil,
Just thought I'd let you and the beloved minions know that your tips, encouragement and mockery has helped. I revised the manuscript based on everybody's comments and then sent out the partial. So far I've gotten to requests for the entire thing. First time that's happened. Much appreciated. Of course, with my track record I'll probably be back soon as "the boring manuscript" guy.

Now if we could only remember which novel you're talking about.

To, too, two . . .
et tu
I don't know if that "to" was a typo or a brain-freeze. Obviously, should have been "two", sorry about that.
For details check out Q&A # 47 in the June Archives...
Et to, too, two, Brutus?
New site slogan!
Evil Editor - he really works!
Boring,
Do you have a revamped query letter? Can we see it?
Bravo, and good luck!
Oh, congratulations!
*goes to see which query it was*
Just to clarify--
The story I'm talking about here (and in Q&A 47) has never been seen on EE's site, in query-letter form or otherwise. That was the point of my problem. It already had a good query letter but the agents were rejecting the story almost immediately after I sent them a couple chapters.
Since I posed that question and made adjustments to the manuscript (not the query), agents are digging the actual story more.
I have submitted a query letter here, just not for this particular story...
..."boring"
Aaah, so your REVISIONS were inspired by Evil Editor. Just as good.
Duh EE, it was the boring one.
The author said so himself.
Congratulations, author!
