Window Closed

As you may have noted, Evil Editor offered to post queries and brief critiques for those who didn't make it into Miss Snark's Crapometer field. The window of opportunity has closed, but queries are always accepted into Evil Editor's regular queue. The ten people who took advantage of this offer have their queries posted at http://www.lottery-loser.blogspot.com . Drop by and leave the authors some comments if you have a chance.

Of course, Evil Editor, anything for you.

Cathy, who just found out she finaled in two categories in the Red River Romance Writers Contest, Ticket to Write, with two of the beginnings she submitted to EE and the minions.

How do you know they're Miss Snark's lottery losers? Do they put that in the subject line?

Admit it, EE--you're just trying to create a blogopoly.

congratulations Cathy.

LOL on the blogopoly!

I like having everything on one blog. if both blogs are for query letters then there doesn't seem much point having 2 sets

also have to confess to being slightly miffed that the "lottery losers" are getting their queries analysed ahead of other faithful loyal wonderful readers (i.e. moi) who submitted to EE FIRST!!!

in any case it's a great service and it's free so we have no right to be demanding and instead bow and scrape respectfully and offer up chocolate fish and champagne for the evil one...

EE wil continue to do a Face-Lift a day from the query queue (any faster and I begin to run out). These lottery losers don't get Guess the Plot, never get a revised version, and don't get as much humor.

That's cos they're losers, right?

That's very generous of your time and mental capacity, EE.

My entry didn't make it, but it had already passed through EE's golden hands. I was just looking to run it through another cycle just in case.

Besides, if MS visits this blog regularly, she'd probably already seen it! I suppose I was just being greedy and I've been punished accordingly.

I shall look forward to checking out the "Lottery Losers".

I don't want to set up a blog just to comment. Can we have the 'other' feature over there?

Evil Editor said...

Sorry, forgot that wasn't the default. On it.

Sorry?

SORRY?

You're losing it, EE. Couldn't you have flamed the upstart minion just a LITTLE?

I was lulling him into commenting, having arranged for his word verification to alternate between "loser" and "jerkwad."

Does that mean YOU make up the word verification, EE? C'mon, what goes with Chumplet?

Funny thing, I thought Chumplet was a word my sister and her former husband invented as an endearment, and when I googled it today, it seems to be the identity of some Poker guru. Go figure.

rkoop: where I should be right now.

Dave, you look vaguely familiar. I think I used to wear those glasses in the 90's.

Buffy, you were in my front yard today, gathering grass in your chops to insulate your nest, I guess. You looked like you had green whiskers.

Okay, one too many shots of Grant's. Happy Labour Day!

Evil Editor, you're doing a fabulous job. I got a request for a partial based on your facelift, and another as well. One of them declined because she thought the novel was a bit too short, and the other sent an identical rejection by email to four members of my writing group, although she made it sound like it had a personal touch. Kinda made me think it was automated.

Anyway, I'm off to print/email another round.

Whoa. Say that five times fast.

Just took a peek over at the Snarkopolis and looks like she's getting a number of your ex's.

Sloppy seconds, or field trial? We report, you decide.

Only ten people took you up on this, O Evil One? I was expecting all 400 to mob you and crash the blog.

Showing that some people have no taste.

A few more than ten; some opted to go into the regular queue. But far fewer than one would expect. Holiday weekend may have had some impact.
