Milestone

This is the 5000th post on the Evil Editor blog. Currently. If you want to get technical, there've been a lot more because I've deleted most of the book chat reminders and the feedback requests and the cartoon workshops and the calls for submissions of queries and openings when we're running low (like we are right now, with only one query and zero openings, so if you've been trying to work up the courage, it's time to take the plunge; surely everyone who did NaNoWriMo should have submitted their first 150 - 200 words by now). But according to Blogger there are now 5000, posted on 1687 consecutive days. To celebrate, here's a look back at a few other milestones:

1st mention of Mrs. Varmighan
Text Color1st appearance of Mrs. V.

1st appearance of Evil Editor's laser eyes

1st use of "Also a _______" at the end of a Guess the Plot

I'm not posting any of my Nano novel because I don't want anyone to steal it.

It only took 30 days to write an exceptional story: no one will ever have seen a published book like this. There are aliens, space pirates, Amish, pirouetting parrots, a gypsy fortune teller and a plan to take over the world... it has everything you could want. Oh, except for plot but that's over rated.

Congratulations on 5000 substantive posts! This is a great place to hang around.

Wow, that's a lot of blogging, through thick & thin. Congratulations, and thank you. Sometimes the only laugh I get all day is here.

Oh. Sniff. Sniff. Good times. Good times.

Congrats on your fortitude, dedication, and general idiocy in slogging through for so long!

Your influence -- from general editor-type helpfulness to having a site through which numerous friendship were forged -- has, and continues to be, broad-reaching.

Salud!

It's a testament to your greatness that you continue to roll on and on and on and on and on — a bit like Elvis (only he's dead).

What Anonymous said. Thank you for the education, cleverly concealed in a daily belly laugh. Your posts are my reward for getting my morning's work done.

HA! I've got you beat, fairyhedgehog! MY Nano novel is fanfic! beat that for sheer uselessness!

Oh, and my capcha is dednblon, which sure describes how you feel right after Nano finishes.

Oh, EE hit a milestone? He didn't blow out a tire on it, did he?

Congratulations on reaching yet another milestone, and long may it continue.

By the way, Evil Editor is blocked in China, so I've been without it for a week...

Here's to 5,000 more. EE, you're the best. Been there with a laugh when I've really needed one.

Yes, thank you, EE. I'm grateful for the friendships I've forged directly through your blog. And the writing advice, of course.
