I just saw an entertaining stage play by Tracy Letts titled SUPERIOR DONUTS and it really does have a manuscript in it that is hand written on legal notebooks. The prop manuscript is held together with bungee cords and lives in a backpack.
Cartoons are funnier when they have a reflection in semi-real (stageplay) life.
