I can't believe she's gone - you were such a great couple...

I'm in denial.

Has anyone solved the riddle she left... the phone number 648-9487, and the comment "Numbers stand for letters too"?

Could it be the latitude and longitude where she buried clues to her true identity? Maybe the date when she'll reappear? Am I reading too much into this?

Woe. Woe.

Maybe it's what people who can't figure out the riddle are.

If you look at the letters corresponding to the numbers - you'ss notice by a quick procewss of elimination that the first 6 spell out 'nitwit'.

I didn't get the title of this one... until I went over to MS's blog and nearly passed out.

Phone number: (MNO)(GHI)(TUV)(WXYZ)(GHI)(TUV)(PQRS)

Isn't it obvious? There are three phrases: OH, TWITS! MGT WHUP! OH, U ZITS!

Now this is interesting! Fascinating even. Anonymously posting on a website to figure out the puzzle on another website.
What would Miss Snark say? Think Hard! Real Hard!

Actually, if you dial the number with the 212 area code, you will speak with a man named Sal. Sal will give you exactly 15 seconds. If Sal likes what you say, he'll give you a secret email address to which you can submit queries. Your query then goes right to the top of the slush. When writers complain about having to know someone in order to get published, they're talking about Sal. If you're not published, you don't know Sal.

Does anyone else find it strange that EE was reluctant to reveal his vacation destination? Could it be because: he went to Sweden for a sex-change so he could assume the identity of our beloved, murdered Snark on Friday night, shut down her blog on Sat. night, basked in the glory of her tributes, dumped her corpse in the East River Sunday morning and now plans to resurrect the site with some lame excuse about exhaustion??

Or is my imagination just running away from me in my Snarkless desolation?

Substituting letters for numbers is way too complicated but I usually just say, 1-800-BITE-ME!

Of Course, Miss Snark is way too polite to do that instead challenging readers to exercise their brain. Something we authors need to keep encouraging readers to do.

If a put-down is too complicated, people don't get them and so,what is the point of the put down? As a writer, my characters keep their put-downs short and sweet. Something in the order of:

"If I give you a dollar, will you go play on the tollway?
