Book Update

For those reluctant to order over the Internet, and who have been waiting for the "official" publication of Novel Deviations, you should now be able to phone your local bookstore and have them order it for you. You'll have to wait for them to order from a wholesaler, who'll order from EE. You'll pay full cover price, but no shipping. (Amazon charges $8.00 for the book, but $3.99 shipping; they do give free shipping if you spend enough.) EE prefers you order direct from this site until he makes back his expenses, but fully understands if you prefer not to. If the book is out of your price range, most public libraries have cards you can fill out suggesting books you'd like them to get in.

I received a thank you note from a friend who got NOVEL DEVIATIONS as a gift. She loves it. She has two darling little boys (2 and 4 years old) and never gets time to read much but, she says, ND has just the right length stories to enjoy a few moments relaxation. And it's fun. So thanks again.

I received my copy of "Novel Deviations" today. Thank you very much for organising such a brilliant book. It looks great and the personal touches in the Introduction make it really special. Thank you again for taking the time to do this.

My copies of "Why You Don't Get Published" arrived and it is wonderful. I giggled through dinner and all last night. It's better than sex! Good Job!

Better than sex? Dude, Dave, we need to talk.

I hope mine comes in today.

I received my copy yesterday and spent a pleasant hour chortling and hooting at the funny comments. There is a lot of useful information couched in the humor, too. Good job, EE!

Is it a secret, or can you tell us how many copies actually have sold of Novel Deviations?

Is that "too many words" Dave? How would he know?

PJD said...

Talk, talk, talk. That's all girls want to do. I suspect that's WHY Dave thinks the book is better than sex.

Brenda said...

I promise, that's not all girl want to do. Promise.

Although even then, I do tend to still talk...

90 copies of ND have sold.

writtenwyrdd said...

90 copies? Is that enough to break even?

Evil Editor said...

No, but if I'd printed 200 (instead of 300) it would be. Another 30 or so should do it. I'm not worried, it's been out only three months.

I got my copy of Why You Don't Get Published today! Haven't had a chance to read much of it, but of course it's hysterical so far.

I GOT BOTH OF MINE!!! HEE!!!

Weirdest moment ever: I opened WHY YOU DON'T GET PUBLISHED and I happened to open it right on the page that had a question I sent in a long, long time ago. How creepy is that?

And that doesn't include the squealing from my children or my grin when I read inside the covers. Thanks, EE.

I heart you. Bigtime.

If you come to Nationals, you could put a load of these in the Bookseller's room.

(lure... lure...)

I'm not reluctant. Just slow. I'll order now!

McKoala said...

Make that 93. One for me, one for mum and one for luck. Hope that helps!

Evil Editor said...

Sure, but maybe get the other book for luck, instead of having two of the same one? I'm not in desperate straits here.

McKoala said...

Perhaps one for me to keep clean and one to lend out to my messy friends might have been a better way of putting it!

I'm still waiting for mine, but I already know it's cheaper than sex...

Brenda said...

Yes, I agree. Sex only costs you your heart, whereas the book demands your soul.

Anonymous said...

Okay, let me get this straight, so to speak.

The book's both better and cheaper than sex, and we have to worry it'll come back messy from our friends...

Does it have pictures?

Dave Fragments said...

I can say definately say that there are no pictures.

And please, I'll thank you to leave my sex life in my very-able hands. Considering that my second exwife is still serving time for that mushroom dinner fiasco and the current bimbo is only here for my body, the booze, good jazz, and my green eyes, "Why You Don't Get Published" is better than sex.

Got mine yesterday. It's hilariously informative. Good stuff.

My wife wanted to know what was so funny so she browsed through it, too. She's not very writerly, didn't get the jokes and thought it was rather dull. She did agree it was better than sex, though.

Not sure how I feel about that.

Brenda said...

As much as I absolutely adore EE, it's not better than the sex in MY life. I'm worried about some of you though.

Life is too short for mediocre sex.

Evil Editor said...

Apparently Brenda's man reads this blog too.

Brenda said...

Singular? Hmm. Interesting.

And nope.

But why settle for crappy sex? Ugh. My brain doesn't wrap around the idea.

One day I may actually think before I spew forth from my fingertips, but I doubt it. What fun would that be?

Anonymous said...

Spew forth from your fingertips? Sounds like you and Dave both have very capable hands...

My copy came yesterday.

...no, not in that sense.

OK, you can go back to talking about sex now.
