Success Story

Speaking of YA books that appeared here, I don't think it's been mentioned that Marissa Doyle's novel Bewitching Season

has been published. You may have read the opening if you were around at the time of New Beginning 189

Surely that's not from BEWITCHING SEASON, which I have read and enjoyed thoroughly; it's set in an alternate pre-Victorian England. I've recommended it to a number of people.

Congratulations, Marissa! The book gives every indication of being the first of a series, as there are a couple more charming young ladies to marry off. Will there be more?

Congratulations, Marissa. I remember that New Beginning when it first appeared on this blog. It's great to see a fellow minion achieve success, it gives the rest of us hope. Best wishes on future success.

Oh, wow--I'm on EE! Thanks for mentioning me!

You're right, talpianna--that New Beginning is from a different story--a YA fantasy that's till being worked on. And yes, there's more to come--a sequel called Betraying Season is due out in May 2009 and a third book after that, probably 2010.

(slinks into corner to quietly geek out)

I assumed it was Bewitching Season because of the Persy/Persephone characters. Is it the same character in both, or just the almost same name?

Congratulations, Marissa!

My daughter ran out to get your book after a friend's recommendation. I didn't realize until now that you were an Evil Minion, though.

Got some nice reviews on Amazon, too.

Hey Mr. EE,
Big fan of the blog, of course. I've navigated the rutted road to publication and benefitted mightily from your hilarious instruction. I scored an agent last year. My middle grade novel "A Taste For Red" will debut in Spring 2009 from Clarion Books. When folks ask how I landed my agent, I give them the low down on the querying process and direct them to your site for the latest and greatest in back-handed insight. You've been a great help! Thank you! Thank You! The cover art for my book has finally arrived and is up at my work-in-progress website www.lewisharrisbooks.com
I've read all your posts and am a definite EE success!
Thanks!
