WTF?

It appears the first two to three weeks of every month has disappeared from my blog archives. I can still access those posts by searching for, say, Face-lift 602. So they exist. So my question is, is the problem just with my computer, and you guys can click on February, 2008 and see the entire month? Is this happening to anyone else's blog archives?

Hmm. Picking a couple of months at random... nope, not seeing anything prior to the 21st of the month on any of them.

So... I don't know what's happening... but it's not just you.

(Is it only displaying a certain number of entries per page? One of the ones I looked at came to an abrupt halt part-way through the writing exercise results.)

I don't seem to have control over the number of posts in an archive month. I tried changing the number of posts on the front page of the blog to 100 but it didn't change the archive problem. In fact, it also didn't yield 100 posts on the front page of the main blog.

I tried one month and it was missing a week of entries. I'm not getting this on my blog.

I do wonder if it's the sheer no. of entries and if you can change some of the settings.

My blog archives are set up a bit differently than yours. I have the little arrows on mine to open up each year and then each month in the archive list and see all the posts.

Have to run to work right now, but maybe I can look deeper into this a little later today.

I tried several months of different years and I get different end dates. The earliest was the 12th and the latest was the 21st.

My blog has far less posts than yours per month and seems fine.

If memory serves me correctly, larger blogs don't always show up every post and you have to access the Older Posts link. That's what seems to be missing here.

Same deal as the others. My blog seems fine, while I wasn't able to access earlier than the 15th for August 2009. Other months look like they're posting the last week of the month. And I too don't see an "Older Posts" link.

Huh. You've probably already noticed this (or perhaps you've changed it yourself) but your blog just changed templates

Yes, in order to get the other kind of archives I switched from html template to the layouts. I had to choose a template, and there were 16 available, none of them being the one I've always used. If there's a longer list of choices somewhere, I'll be happy to switch back.

Seems to have solved the archive issue, though.

I have the same template that you had. My Blog Archive is set as follows:

Style: Hierarchy
Options: Show Post Titles
Archive Frequency: Monthly

I think it's the hierarchy style that gives me the arrows and shows all of my posts. Of course, I don't post as much as you do.

Actually I had and have the same settings. I just didn't recognize this template in the samples because the sample doesn't have the brown design on the sides. Back to normal.

It looks to me like the whole format of your blog has changed--font, size, sidebar arrangement. I got to the February 2008 archives and had to click Older Posts to get to earlier weeks in the month.

It doesn't look like the normal template to me, for all it's got the same colors. If you want, I'll email you a screenshot.

I think the sidebar arrangement changed because this is the way the sidebar is arranged in layouts. It was the solution to the archive problem. I've messed with the colors. I think the font is the same; does it look better now in the next-smaller size?

I can access by clicking on "older posts" as well. And I like the new do!
